Sorry, missed your answer. The scare quotes around "cost" are just to underline the negative connotations in the term. If it turns out their are large overall gains from their activity, I feel it would be a bit disingenuous to ta

Please explain how that works. So you've got a completely independent "fully automated" economy of robots creating "goods" (as defined by humans) and exchanging them with one another while humans starve to death wat

So, notifications, and the AR (or is it MR?) equivalent of a data puke dashboard. The technology does seem cool, but the killer app isn't quite there yet, is it? Kind of screams retrofuturism.

That still leaves a little bit of an issue: taxpayers financing campaigns for parties they will never vote for. As a French citizen, I can't figure out a good reason why I have to give a cent to some nutjobs just because they woke up o

Sure, I'll buy that in principle. But wouldn't you agree that it mostly matters if someone is recommending some shady financial product or otherwise high-ticket item? What's the worse that could happen when someone makes (tex

I'm curious why people care about articles with referral links. It's not like you're paying more if you end up buying something, is it?

That seems a little arbitrary to me. You have to switch how you hold the brush to go left/right (unless your brush is double-sided). For example, I can't imagine his first move, from upper left outside, to upper right outside, to

The square is the cartesian product upper/lower X left/right (upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right). I was only counting moves from left to right or top to bottom (along the sides of the square), so I suppose those are

Let me see. I may not have been very clearheaded and have miscounted. Left upper outside to right upper outside is 1 side of the square (distance between left and right). Right upper outside to right upper inside is 0 (I was assuming no dis

That makes sense in terms of bit flipping, but does it make sense in terms of distance? Assuming your mouth is a unit square, where you have to hit the four "corners", with no distance between inside and outside, with Knuth's
