It’s actually pretty common to start on the back of an incumbent. As a startup gains success it can do more to reduce dependency by building more of the end to end experience and distribute risk to more than one partner.

If, like me, you didn't know how these get cut I'll save you the trouble. The most likely cause is improper boat anchoring. Never shark bites.

I just switched my hobby apps over to Fly and it is as good as people say it is. As simple or simpler than Heroku in many areas.

X86 is bloated. Linux on Mac is a dark forest, though. You might be better off sticking with MacOS despite that it’s gone downhill lately.

It's interesting that the article attributed the shift in Apple Watch's marketing strategy to Tim Cook. I am pretty sure that Jeff Williams led that change. He is a smart guy who doesn't get the press he deserves, in my opini

Great stat. I might be underselling the achievement... I bet some of that growth is driven by the insane battery life, which we know people care a lot about. To be clear, I own and love 2 M1-based machines :-) I stand by my overall comment,

If I had to guess, it might be this assertion: “I think it would be very difficult to overvalue that” Most people I speak with feel that the market, and tech especially, is overvalued. Put differently, the expectations of returns is so far

I always felt (perhaps wrongly) that “Engineer” connotes some kind of a professional licensing process (P.Eng for example). I think the title would be more earned if software engineers had to agree to an oath and sign their work (somewhat a
