App stores leave a lot to be desired when it comes to security. In fact it can give users a false sense of security. https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5351280

I think the real question, if a company can hire someone cheaper that can do the job just as well as the more expensive employee, why should the company keep them? I believe this has already been answered by the market.

Side projects are icing. People live under different circumstances. One person may wish to spend their free time socializing when they’re done work. Another person may wish to spend that time doing these side projects. If this made the diff

I’m not sure where you are going with this. Are you saying CERB shouldn’t exist? For the inequality issue you mention, what solution would you propose? A socialist state?

I’d say this is very typical actually. There was a CIO at work that people tiptoed around due to bullying. People would walk down to HR, and HR would convince them not to bother complaining... in a nice way of course. Eventually it was my t

I’m still seeing in-app purchases as an option via App Store for Netflix. I can’t comment on the other apps you mentioned except for Gmail. And here’s where I disagree with you. Gmail is still functional without paying anything. You don’t h

Last time I checked, underage slave labor is illegal? Kinda, sorta different. But good try.

I’m on Apple’s side on this one. They’ve made Hey’s choice simple: change it so it’s compatible for people to use their mainstream email services (no $ involved), or make it subscription out of the box. Currently you need some dumb invite-o

Agree with comments. Apple is about shareholder value, like it or not. They are not a non-profit agency.

Landlord here. Someone else said it best. We have mortgages to pay too. The province also shut down the possibility to evict in order to pay it (for now). CERB nullifies what would have been an explosive, shitty situation for everyone.

I admit, I was cringing when I saw the Citi logo at first thinking they would somehow pivot this into some marketing ploy. Good on Citi for taking a firm stand and calling on some organizations people can donate to, which I personally hadn’

I have a strong love/hate relationship with all this App Store oligopoly. Love because often they are weeding out apps with security/privacy concerns. On the flip side, cases like this where you are 600 feet buried in red tape try

I happily resigned from a big four consulting company after three weeks. They misrepresented the location and hours I'd be working during the interview process. I don't doubt I have a black line through my name at the company, a
