Now, there's a name I haven't heard in a long time... Back before 2000 I did a tonne of stuff with GEOS; wrote a couple of terrible programming languages, some not-so-terrible games, a bunch of hacking, and even managed to write a

I wrote a self-hosting (if you're very patient) compiler for the 6502 and Z80 a while back. Both are a bit of a shock if you're used to true 16 bit arch architectures. I did a couple of writeups on the problems of doing basic arit

It's a very lightweight single-user OS with an excellent GUI and a Posix command-line environment (i.e. bash, make, gcc etc). It's not a server OS, and it's not particularly secure, so it's not a particularly good choice

It's true about videos, but this was never intended as a technical resource. Instead I wanted to show how working on one of these machines felt . I showed this video to some work-mates, mostly younger than I am, and some of the questi

Hello, author here. Naturally I get my fifteen minutes of internet fame while I'm on holiday on the pilgrimage paths in Japan, so this is going to be pretty short, but yeah, there are some mistakes in the article (`cpx #0xff`... bah);
