The issue is quite difficult so I will put in "believe" in here: I believe one of the problems with peace treaties with the Palestinians is that they do not accept Israel as a state. Feel free to correct me.

I believe the IDF sends out warnings to the areas they target. A big difference is also that the IDF targets military targets and civilian deaths are accidental, while the Hamas targets civilian targets. Also, even if only a few Israelis di

The phone image makes me want to scroll the page, except there isn't anything to scroll to. Just a minor detail. I love the design of the voting pages, and I think the idea is executed well too. :)

I have a business that relies solely on PayPal and reading every story like this makes me afraid of being the next one. What are global, not US-only , not credit-card only PayPal alternatives? Plus points for MassPayment API equivalents.

Well, that would screw over all merchants who were not screwed over by PayPal itself.

Another technique I find to be working really well is the "honeypot" technique. I create a CSS-hidden input field with a delicious, attractive name "url" and then validate it to be empty.

I'm not sure if this is HN material, but anyway: This is terrifying. As someone who doesn't live in the US and enjoys a secular government, this is like culture shock, even more so because this person is supposed to be a (medical) doctor, a

In Minecraft you can swim up a stream of falling water. The griefers used a lever to open/close the stream down to the ground. I assume one of the griefers had to stay up there and operate that lever.

I think the idea is not bad, but there are a few off-putting things. First, it asks me for my location before I know what it's about at all. Maybe delay the geolocation request until after I click something? The description of what the site

I was a semi-decent programmer when I was 17 like you, now I'm 19 and pretty good. One thing that I'm doing is applying to universities to study CS/IT, because I want to back my skills with degrees. Maybe that'd be a good plan for you too!

Just today decided that I'm done with this thing for the time being. Took a whole while. Built with Laravel PHP. It's a marketplace for art commissions (not finished art pieces, but artist services rather): https://artistsnclients.com/

I see. Thank you! I disabled the limits for unconfirmed users and will create a merged form as soon as possible. The development flow looks like this to me right now: First I built a strictly REST/model-centered back-end, and now I have to

I have a similar question, I'll use this opportunity to ask it: If I present the visitor a thing or a service he can buy, is it bad that I need him to sign up separately and confirm his e-mail before he can actually press "place order"? I g

By deliberately replacing a ! with a 1 you can exaggerate the excitement. You are so excited you can't even hold the shift button down. It's not a typo, more of an inside joke of the Internet. :)

Sorry, but wouldn't that defy the purpose? You can only use JavaScript client-side, and I assume it would take a lot of time, effort, and "why" to make browsers ship parsers for other languages.

Yeah.. replaced it with just a Beta message. I feel like it's right to indicate that it's still in development. Thanks! I'm quite surprised I got any upvotes.

I built http://artistsnclients.com - It was an idea I had back in 2011 but couldn't find time to do. Now I built it, but it doesn't seem to be viable. I had a few people test it and the profit is at about $4 right now. At least I improved
