I also believe you are making a category error expecting the next election to be like the last. His shift in approval has already been ~20% for the worse. And people aren't going to forget the demolition of the Whitehouse for a golden

To be fair, the history of computing is only ~200 years old even if you go back to Babbage and Lovelace. The history of art is literally as old as recorded history.

Well, to be fair, 7 million showed up in the streets on Saturday. Up from 5 million before and up from 3 million before that. The last election was decided by 2.3 million votes. Edit1: That's not to say don't worry about it. That&

Yeah, I don't think the dominos will fall until the next flash crash when people realize it takes $100+ just to withdraw (because 7 transactions per second isn't many). As soon as confidence is lost, the reaction will be full blow

Yes, the decision was definitely made well before covid. It's just that musk and fanboys couldn't stop crowing about it during the covid shortages because that temporarily made camera-only sensing look like a good idea.

Hm. Is Karpathy the fool who convinced Musk that the best sensing technology (lidar) shouldn't be used? That is disappointing. I like Karpathy and always thought the cameras-only mistake came from Musk as chief fool.

I had a false start getting my mom to switch from OSX to Linux. She is tech savvy, and because of that she was doing more advanced things like mail merges for nonprofits, developing websites, etc. That was in the 2000s. I expect moving from
