I'm not sure if you're misunderstanding the parent comment's intent, or choosing to focus on the personal aspect (chiding). They're suggesting a strategy for you to get into either YC or an automated farming startup.

There are plenty of people with the money who don't donate it at all. What's the use of this?

If it had no discernable value, why would AngelList shell out to buy PH? That's nontrivial money to them, and they certainly aren't doing this as a favor to PH's investors.

They haven't asked you questions, but you have shared information about your support usage patterns. So, I'd guess that they're still working with lighter loads and plan to go larger from there. They didn't say they didn

I didn't see this in the video, but is there a planned way to read/write the stored data from one of your instances? What does it look like? For certain things (anything with real volumes of data) it's impossible to do data

I just want to put a plug in for the video lecture portion of this. Tom Leighton is an excellent lecturer. There is plenty of electronic textbooks/courses, but I really do think he explains the course material in an engaging and luci

One of the problems with this whole issue is that people are prone to looking at tl;dr's. Your comment assumes that front-running is occurring, which is not what's happening. Would you rather the debate go to: whether everyone s

How is it just theater if it will change the way their teams work together? Team members that telecommuted, won't - and their productivity might change as a result/they might quit. I think it's pretty likely that it'll change things. She'

I disagree with you. All the programmers I know have plenty of coding/reviews in their day-to-day. A much smaller amount of time is dedicated to reading papers - after all, it's not their job. If we can agree that both are valuable, wh

If you're a math grad student, this book probably does not apply to you. Students who are interested in learning the basics of mathematics for computer science will not be looking to learn about abstract algebra, or, as your handle suggest
