Not being satirical no - I don't have any company infrastructure setup yet, I'm focused fully on building the product. The product is on a .eu domain, and @domain.eu mailboxes will eventually emerge :)

Yes! At one early startup I worked at, one of our initial customers (we didn't have many at that point) had reported an annoying bug stopping their workflow. So one of our engineers logged into production on their tenant; replicated th

Yup. This is one of the reasons I'm working on an EU-based PaaS. Ping me davedx@gmail.com if you'd be interested in kicking the tyres once it's ready for prime time.

I used to work with set-top-boxes for a big media corporation, those also had the debug serial port. I remember it being fiddly but also absolutely vital to be able to do any useful work with the STB's. It's quite eye opening now

The problems with these examples in my opinion is they often extend extremely trivial examples of problems to large, complex applications with a lot of assumptions about the problems those large, complex applications are likely to have. It&

Pretty interesting. Also seeing some pivots, Numeral seems to have changed tack a little to focus primarily on a US pain point (sales tax), earlier it was a more general purpose accounting tech product I think. I wonder what other pivots th

I’d like to say well, now I’ve seen it all, but I am sure the boundless curiosity and ingenuity of the human race will surprise me for a long while yet.

Because everyone and their dog thinks they need to be ready to develop their own models, in python . This is honestly a thing, at least in the startup world.

Unfortunately with us being in the middle of the AI hype cycle, everyone and their dog is currently busy migrating to python.

I am very interested in both of these. Coming from the TypeScript world I'm really interested in the different directions (type inference or not, intersections and type narrowing...). As a Python developer I'm wearily resigned to

It’s also refreshing to see what IMO is a very smart selection of technology, when you see so many other people following hype (I’m reminded of the rust gamedev post the other week). C#, SDL3, and some other nice libraries. The thing is, it
