I recently completed my struggle with AngularJS/Django and the asset pipeline. I was using django-compressor but that was really not pleasant. What I did was completely decouple my AngularJS app from my Django app. I stopped using Django's

I built http://www.5by.com on AngularJS in about 3 months, and just a few thousand lines of code. The same thing in Backbone would have likely taken a lot more time and a lot more code. It was my first AngularJS app, and I was learning it

I like Persona a lot and I would love to implement it on some of my sites, but I wonder how to best describe what it does to the average user. "Sign in with Persona" will probably look just as bad as "Sign in with Facebook"...

I've been using Redis Cloud by Garantia Data for the past few months. They have automated infrastructure for (what I assume are) sharded Redis DBs, and they have a super reasonable pay-as-you-grow plan. http://redis-cloud.com/ They claim

I recently read "Failure is not an option" by Gene Kranz (FLIGHT on Apollo 11) so I thought this was pretty cool. Great book too: http://www.amazon.com/Failure-Not-Option-Mission-Control/dp/...

One of the main issues here is that medical care is largely non-procedural and intuition-based. That's why doctors have to spend years doing training, followed by years of experience. Their "checklists" are created one step at a time, per-p

I don't really understand how the research led to the result. The survey of Firefox users showed that 34% of users knew about dragging the favicon, and only 21% actually used that technique. Instead, the "star-clicking" behavior seems to be

You _don't_ need to wear a suit to be well dressed. A nice, properly fitting shirt (find a store that fits you best, or try online made-to-measure) and fitting jeans (I love Levi's, personally) can go a really long way. Get a blazer or two,
