Depends on the website, depends on their audience. Some people can’t get to grips with threaded comments, for example.

I thought pharmaceutical giants did their R&D these days by buying startups that had already done the hard work? And which in turn had been spun out of a university department that had done the basic research?

No. But it’s easier not to have to. When I do need an exact time stamp, it’s easy enough to mouseover.

Sometimes if you mouseover the vague time stamp you’ll get an ISO time stamp pop up. Doesn’t help if you’re on your phone, of course. I gotta say though, personally I can never remember what day of the month it is, so having it say “X days

I am on mobile, yes, well deduced. So serving images themselves is free, but the API to control those images is not.

Doesn’t mention what the business model is, so presumably this has to do with tracking people for advertising?

Personally, if this was a coup, I’d say Wagner would have taken control of important infrastructure by now (e.g. the Kremlin, state tv, military depots, Putin / defence minister). Or been killed/arrested himself. This feels more l

No, the rate on your mortgage is fixed for two or five years — after that, you’ll go onto a floating rate. At which point you should remortgage into another fixed rate, but enough people suffer from inertia that they don’t. I hear people ge

Web browsers will take the IRI (Internationalised Resource Identifier; think of it as a URI but containing non-ascii characters), and turn it into a URI (containing a load of percent-encoded utf-8 bytes instead of non-ascii characters) and

I’m in the UK. I wouldn’t say our central government is well run, but their forms are usually easy to fill in online. Local government forms are more variable. But I don’t have to fill in many government forms. Your solution seems geared to

I have to fill in a time sheet at work. This is because in the UK companies can claim tax back if they spent it on R&D. (Software engineering salaries are subsidised in the UK, yes.) The timesheets are to support that. My employer only

I’m pretty sure Google was like that from the very beginning. (Maybe the 40th or 50th page of the results instead of the 44th, but the same principle.) I don’t know why they have this behaviour… but it’s low cost: most people who can’t find

I’ve not used Go. It seems to be built around mutable values though? That seems to argue against it being a functional programming language. (It’s going to turn out there are as many definitions of FP as there are of OOP, isn’t it?)
