Would love to hear from the FitFu founders what went "wrong... - what was different from their expectations - what were the challenges - and why they weren't able to overcome the challenges they faced

PG, thanks for writing the essays. They're definitely thought-provoking and a lot of people appreciate them. Keep writing. :)

I still prefer native over the web. Some examples: Gmail on the web feels a bit slow and sluggish vs Apple Mail is fast, all attachments are there, and it just feels better. Google Calendar is a pain to use - again slow and sluggish. iCal

You'll probably be able to reserve the SuperCharger from your phone while you're driving, or even from your Tesla dash. That way, when you arrive, you're all ready to charge. If when you try to reserve a charging space from your phone, th

I agree. Amazon doesn't have much manufacturing experience, so they'll probably outsource it. It'll probably be a decent but average android phone. And Google has fast velocity with Android development, so I don't think Amazon forking An

I hate going to the bank and filling out the international wire transfer form and having them manually input everything from the form into the computer. Going to the bank and everything kills about an hour of my time.

10.8.1 seems to have improved my battery life on my MBA from 10.8. 10.8 really killed the battery life. But 10.8.1 I'm noticing improvement.

But Apple makes it clear that it's an exception. Last year we got our first expedite request approved but our second one denied because we had already used up our first. Both were for critical bugs.

I think what would really help if Apple had a Fast Track app approval system where developers could pay $300 to get an update approved within 2 days. Developers could use it as often as they wanted. This would allow developers to iterate m

Hmmm, not sure if I agree with Fred Wilson on this one. Fragmentation is a real pain to deal with. I guess if the fragmented parts aren't too numerous and they have tons of users then you just deal with it. As a developer, Android present

Actually I believe you still need to be an accredited investor to participate. It seems like the benefit is 1) you can easily invest smaller amounts than typically required of seed investments, 2) you save time by choosing from the companie

I'd be interested in what the reporting structure under Forstall really is like. Jobs said Apple is run like a startup. But 1000 direct reports does seem unrealistic.

Likely. But we don't know which iOS/Android apps have 1MM DAUs, and so this makes this debate kind of pointless... unless developers share their stats. There are lots of apps with 20+ million downloads (total), and if they're good apps the

OK, how about this developer, https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Best+Cool+%2... . Their Ant Smasher games has over 20 million downloads. All their games combined likely have 1+ million DAU's. Note, the post I commented on

There's a lot of iPhone/Android apps with 1+ million daily active users. But I bet most of them aren't VC-fundable. I think 1 million daily active users isn't as impressive as it was 5 years ago. iOS/Android/Facebook platforms have radica
