I did some contract work for an online “payday loan” company for a bit. It didn’t take me long to realize I was ashamed of working with such a terrible industry, but my professionalism kept me there until I finished the job. Definitely a lo

From the article, it seems the game is an in-house product that the Scout team must conduct with trained facilitators and some special software. It doesn't sound like something you can download or sign in to play.

I'm nowhere near Stewart's level of success, but I've done well enough in tech to own a home in SF, and I grew up in the 70's/80's quite poor in rural North Carolina with an alcoholic ne'er-do-well father

The thing is, their flavor of Agile development absolutely does work in practice, and it is hands down the most reliable way to build great software I have ever seen. However it only works if it is pretty much 100% adhered to, hence the stu

I find myself with a somewhat similar problem, if not as dangerous, at four way stops often in San Francisco. When coming to a stop at an intersection where the slopes of the roads involved match certain configurations, most commonly on a r

I built a simple system for some of our repos that fails the build if you don't have the shared team git hooks set up properly, and on failure directs the new engineers on how to fix the situation.

Combine the two: I always leave a link to a ticket with my TODOs. An improvement would be to also use a commit hook or linter to enforce it.

Getting better at interviewing is cynical and not good advice. The OP isn't looking for how to land a job, they are looking for how to actually become a better software engineer. People that are better at interviewing than they are at

I really don't think the HMD would be a problem in a crash. If it somehow came into contact with my face, it would basically mean the helmet caved in, in which case I already am in plenty of trouble so who cares about the HMD.
