you can install xen on a couple of linux servers, create instances and have your private cloud. Eucalyptus would be even better since it provide a AWS like api.

Completely agree. I've tried working at a Panera. I ended up getting a little work done and eating 2 sandwiches. If you are serious about getting thing done, try it one day and compare your productivity.

If you are not gzipping, this will give the most benefit for you efforts. Pretty bogus title. Could have easily been 100% if you had it running on your local machine. The things your mentioned are yslow recommendations.
