Thank you, though giving an example that does not even apply to the case is not the best approach when one wants to make a case :) If it does not tamper with UDP I fail to recognise the issue though to be honest.

I am not sure it is that obvious given the article's focus on NAT. But what is the problem exactly then?

The article specifically refers to NAT. What other boxes would you have in mind? And is the UDP header encrypted or not? Thanks!

I am not sure I understood the article to be honest. Does QUIC encrypt the actual UDP packet (meaning from IP down, including the UDP header)? If that is the case it is not UDP anymore and there will be "problems" in getting to an

These influences are almost exclusively related to vocabulary. English's grammar on the other hand is Germanic.

The issue is not who "stole" from whom but that people now seem to claim and believe that Kotlin's features are unique to Kotlin and for the majority of its features that is not true, they were taken one-to-one from Groovy.

Thanks for your response. My issue here is not so much that Kotlin borrowed features but that it appears many credit Kotlin now for those feature, when in fact most of it has been already available under Groovy a decade before Kotlin came o

Can you give an example where Groovy would be less compatible?

Java does not have operator overloading. That choice was made IIRC for simplicity reasons. The same why they did not implement multiple inheritance (which they started doing with Java 1.8 and default methods in interfaces).

Nothing in their rambling even remotely supports their argument. Yes, robots.txt is no magic bullet against ill-behaving crawlers (as proven by ArchiveTeam) but it never was supposed to be that. You choose to ignore my specific wish not to

That cannot be emphasised enough. Unfortunately it falls on deaf ears. If a compile does not download at least 56 megabytes these days you can consider it a failure ;).
