google cloud storage is strongly consistent on both initial and update writes, as well as deletes. It would be better if they compared object storage based on request types than saying "Eventual, except for..." vs. "Mixed&quo

Yep, sounds like ALBs would've helped. They were only launched in August 2016 so it sounds like they weren't available when you were doing your project. They just conceptually map better to containers and the documentation has bee

I remember I had asked you forever ago about what issues you had, so I looked it up and you responded! One thing I don't understand from your response is Amazon also funnels you into using a single container type per EC2 instance. It&

I think that's a product vs platform issue, especially having to prefix everything with the application. since you are building your own product, you get to avoid the routing problem entirely.

ipv6 has a provision for locally routable addresses, because yes publicly routable addresses should be special. They should just also be free.

the important bit is you have to unscramble in reverse order of the scrambling. Unscrambling the columns and then unscrambling the rows would lead to smooth gibberish.

For fun, or for profit? Building IaaS to support your own company is hard enough; building it with the level of isolation and security required to be multitenant is harder still.

Why? I'm assuming their highish engineer/service ratio is because their services do less individually. Anecdotally, I've worked on services that ran tens of thousands of instances across the world. You build the tools to mana
