Does anyone know of a secure (like lavabit) web mail service (that doesn't look like crap) that integrates chat (irc, google chat, etc)?

I knew something like this was going to pop up. Now we just have to wait and see how long people can get away with it.

I found that four letters added some ambiguity and some uneeded complexity. Maybe 5 or even 6 letters? Still, this is a great intro to relativity and it was a fun read. Also a cool literary feat.

Sad to see they're Bell Labs patents. We owe a lot of innovation from the work done there. Dammit, and to think I was going to work for Alcatel. edit: wow, spelling.

Is it possible Google is rolling out the feature incrementally? You might not fully have the feature yet.

Hmm that's fishy... I would only give my card to government. Is switching providers an option?

Was this just the result of one phone call to one person? You might have gotten an employee out for a phish. Try giving them another call at another time of day and see if they make the same request.

I find Github to be the best option out there (the only thing I'd like to see is a method to leverage caching). Plus it allows you to make the website "open source" (which is the case for most of what I put up).

Well, if you already use them as a domain name provider, you get 50% off their hosting. So I could theoretically launch a small website for $2.50, which isn't too bad.

As a Canadian, this makes me extremely sad. I always saw Canada as progressive ... hopefully the next government will flip this around.

Very cool stuff. However, I think you might get more people to use it if everything was web-based (instead of having to download the .iso).

Let me go on a tangent here and say that this is a fantastically written article. I'm continuously impressed with the quality of material coming out of the Priceonomics blog.

It makes me peeved when these reports omit the names of the parties that were compromised in the intent of "protecting" their name. If I was a customer of one of the banks that got broken into, I think it would be my right to know that they

There's an issue open on the repo right now about the exact paragraph you're talking about. I was thinking of making it say "I swear to not design software for the purpose of MALICIOUSLY exploiting a vulnerability, damaging another computer

Good point, the oath could just not be named after someone. There's a github issue opened for discussing the name change.

When I first made the Oath (yesterday), I just picked someone I looked up to. Seeing as this should be a social endeavor, I'm open to changes. https://github.com/maxmackie/Turing-Oath/issues/1
