This is cool and all, but I don't see how it's useful. It's a very narrow algorithm that you might use once and a while. On the other hand, this is a perfect example of mathematical beauty.

I might have misstated. I mean that consumers shouldn't have to compensate for poorly written (in terms of efficiency and speed) software. Sure buying an SSD would increase the write speed, which is usually the bottleneck for a system, but

I think that the way HN is set up encourages people to contribute interesting and engaging content (not to mention comments). As for (a), I see what you mean. I think, seeing as I only recently started really getting into new aggregation, I

In most Canadian airports passengers step on a map which randomizes some numbers and then determines if you go for scanning or not. Of course, you also have the option to opt out. On a side note, did the guy say "gingerale" at the end of th

Thanks for your comment. I fixed the link (didn't notice that) and seeing as I'm still in the works of a pdf version of my resume, I said so on the site. What do you mean by "do" words? Also, I'm thinking of also setting up a mailserver on

I don't think this is correct. When you share/download torrents you aren't paying the user at the receiving end. Yet it is still illegal. By your logic, I could stay in Times Square giving out copies of Avatar and Inception as long as I giv

Can a citizen seek legal action in regards to an event which didn't directly involve them? For example, you saw a crime and want to sue because no one else will? This can't just "go away".
