FTX US collapsed too, as did Alameda Research (the hedge fund that was supposed to be totally separate and theoretically as regulated as any hedge fund).

> He "calculated the odds he'd fail at 20%".... What calculation? What's the formula that gives you the odds that your Ponzi scheme will be discovered? What can possibly "model" that, aside from a scifi-leve

Can people not get money out of FTX US? I thought it was a completely separate from FTX intl because it had to comply with regulations and whatnot.

I was formerly at Google on a team tangentially related to Stadia. A VP told us it was at least a billion dollar investment.

So don't invest it in that lottery. Invest it in my lottery! I'll sell you as many tickets as you want, I pay out a trillion to one if you win, and I'll keep the risk rate totally unknown to you.

Former Palantir employee here (left 2016), your description is exactly what it was like when I left. No machine learning or AI phds, just gluing databases together and building a shiny UI.

It's not supposed to replace LESS/SASS, it's a supplement. That's why it's a postprocessor, not a preprocessor.

I think the idea is that, instead of writing x other style language (SASS, LESS, etc.) that is turned into css, you write css that turns into different css. This means you can use other SASS/LESS/etc... and myth together.

While I'm all for sticking it to the man, isn't this a legally dangerous thing to do?

I'm the same way. I've never understood people who work all day and, at 11pm, casually mention that they haven't eaten since last night. If I even skip breakfast I can't get any work done until lunch.

I think the idea is that this is for people who have learned the code to structure a webpage, but are sick of fiddling around with CSS/LESS/SASS to get a certain div in exactly the right place.

Completely agree with this. Me and some other friends were legitimately excited for Google+ when it was released as beta but couldn't get an invite. By the time it went public nobody cared enough to fill out a profile.

Seriously, this almost seems like they went out of their way to make an unintuitive page. Who makes a form field without an enter button? And the forfeit box covers the input.

I was at berkeley for physics and computer science, and while some physics classes had problems with the number of students enrolling, they were nowhere near as bad as the CS classes. It's well known at Cal that there's way too ma

I worked at linkedin last summer, and I remember seeing a project exactly like this at one of the hackday presentation. It's nice to see that it turned into something.

I've been looking for something exactly like this. It's so tedious trying to remember what metadata needs to be copied from a function when making a decorator. Thanks!

As much as I agree with this sentiment, I think it's better to downvote him to invisibility and not respond to his comments.
