I use Android Beam fairly regularly. Sharing contact info, transferring files, etc. is all delightfully easy now. I hardly ever use NFC to interact with anything other than other devices, but I suppose that's because those other things are

This is the third Nexus; there are only two (not 200) other Nexus models. The form factors are quite different between the devices, so I wouldn't expect dock compatibility in any case.

I've never experienced any of those issues in my 2+ years with Android. I've always used stock Android (on the MyTouch 3G and then the Nexus One) -- I think you must be using a buggy build.

Only the GPL/LGPL parts are available, but the Honeycomb code isn't viewed as ready for public consumption yet. My guess is that we'll finally see the code when Ice Cream Sandwich rolls out.
