Something extra hilarious about the UX of the website causing me to mis-click. I tried to watch the YouTube video but the UX popped in and caused me to click on some other random link.

What's the Matter with Kansas? (2004) by Thomas Frank explores some of this, but centered around Kansas. Pretty interesting (and frustrating) stuff.

If you're interested in some reflection on that, What's the Matter with Kansas? (2004) by Thomas Frank explores some of this, but centered around Kansas. Pretty interesting (and frustrating) stuff.

Maybe a laid-off engineer is bored and started orchestrating DDoS campaigns in their newly-found free time.

For staging/committing I haven't found anything that I've liked more than Git Extensions' Commit view. One of the main things I like about it is that it does _not_ auto refresh. A long time ago with SourceTree I'd

Totally agree. The house we bought in 2019 has a Subzero and it's the best fridge I've had. No frills (other than an ice maker), it just works. I dread the day I have to repair or replace it ($$) but it's been rock solid i

That is interesting. We use QuickJS in Minecraft (Bedrock, for modding) and while it's much slower than V8 it's not _that_ much slower.

We've worked a lot on the Typescript/JavaScript APIs available for Bedrock so most content on Bedrock platforms (console, mobile, etc) is heavily script-based. It will always be more limited that Java modding but is catching up in

I have a feeling in today's administration which largely "leads by tweet" that many traditional "inefficient" steps have been removed from government processing, probably including software on-boarding.
