Had a very similar issue with socks. Re-ordered after ~4 years of the old socks wearing out. New socks came with the brand stitch in different color, and the new ones are already wearing out in ~4 months.

Practical diet for software engineers: - Breakfast + dinner <= 500 cals - Lunch eat what the company gives or go out with teammates, don't get 2nds or lots of dessert. Keep it to 1000 cals.

A problem with fantasy worlds is the escapism is mild, and I develop something like tolerance to it. The tolerance effect makes finishing very long fantasy books / trilogies slow, since it causes me to put them down in the middle if th

The amount of boilerplate and number of different technologies you need to tie together to have a polished, presentable project with possibility for end-user traction is insane. You're going to want two different mobile apps (or a cros

Another way they prevent refactoring is by creating the work for you to implement the same type / number of tests on your new code so your code review doesn't look like it's deleting 100 tests.

Hey! I'm enjoying some of your music on spotify. Going to be added to my work + relaxation playlists! Really nice ambiance. What are some pointers on getting started? I really don't have any background but interested.

Walking is very underrated as exercise. People think they have to go to the gym or run a marathon for it to count. In fact, if you're overweight, running could shoot your HR way up (+190). Try walking.

It helps in other non-measurable ways too. If you know you're going to go for a run in 2-3 hours, you're going to not eat an entire pizza for lunch, for example.

I am so surprised that not more people want a real office. I don't mind sharing an office with 1-3 other people to save real estate but come on this whole sit down in the middle of the open floor and code is garbage.
