I recently started using both org-mode and org-roam, but I keep my notes/bookmarks/journals/etc in a notes folder, with a timestamp. So far a combination of aliases, and tags help me find what I'm looking for pretty easi

Re: Delta Chat, I've often wondered if a solution existed like this, because in my eye the "problem" with email is that it's long-form. Nobody wants to compose an email just to send a one or two liner (good morning, what

I love email because everybody has it. I'd love it if all my clients, friends, colleagues, family members all used the same platform, or that all those platforms could communicate with each other. Email is the only communications t

He didn't invent anything. All github or gitlab do is host that server for you, and give you access to it. You don't even have to "host a server". Simply allowing ssh access to your machine is enough.

Apple's "walled garden" experience depends heavily on controlling as much of the software that gets into the user's hands as possible. Web applications just don't give them the control they want. I wouldn't be

I read once that developers should stop focusing heavily on making their own lives easier and think more about making the user's lives easier, and the businessman in me agrees, and I think Apple is in the same court. The sad part is Ap

I use gopass ( https://github.com/gopasspw/gopass/ ) which works well, but I don't share with anyone. Always wondered how I might jump that hurdle.

$750 is still steep for a phone that's "a hassle to use" and never available when I need to use it. Isn't there some way I can directly support one or both of these teams?

Either awesome or i3 used to allow me to fullscreen a video, then pop that fullscreen video out into it's own floating window, that I could then stick on top of all other windows, and make it stay on every workspace. Really cool way to

Nobody pointed it out, but there's also https://regexr.com/ It's how I learned regex years ago, and I still use it today to test/build more complex patterns.

You could use this argument for literally anything, though. I spent days poring over docs, googling, SOF, github issues, making comments, the whole works when I learned any new software/technology. The argument doesn't hold water,
