So, this cascading issue is hitting me right now. Being real vague here, in order to support a new capability, we need to insert an asynchronous operation in the middle of what has been a synchronous operation. The synchronous operations i

I used to joke about creating spray on mud as my million dollar product idea. Macho up your suburban assault vehicle with some many mud splatters without getting your hands dirty.

I've looked at a few and I haven't loved any of them. They all have some kind of shortcoming that makes them not usable. For example, the schema.org schema puts quantities, units, and ingredients in a single field. Fail, IMO. Oth

Very easy to make. You can make them with pretty much anything if you aren't a stickler for authenticity. One of the best flavors I have made was what I called "Spaghetti Onigiri". For that I took a basic American style spa

https://www.justonecookbook.com/onigiri-rice-balls/ You can make them all sorts of ways. Plain rice around a filling or with rice with stuff mixed in shaped into a ball. You can also make a more sandwich like variant

The cinerama and the museum were shut down for Covid and just never came back. They found someone to take on the Cinerama. But the living computer museum was a taller order. Which is tragic because it was an unbelievably cool place. Bein

This seems like a great idea, but in practice I found it lacking. The big use case I see for this is to drive automatic generation of changelogs and automatically computing the next semantic version of your project. Which is a very cool id

Every damn time I need to find a ticket in Jira. It's easier and faster to open a random ticket and edit the URL than it is to use the UI.

Me too. But this might be even better. While I really like Fusion 360, it is proprietary. I've tried FreeCAD, but as much as I want to love it, it's painful to use. Thrilled to have another option to check out.

When I was playing around with the demo, I gave it a list of things to do and then asked it to convert the list to a markdown table and label the second column estimated duration. It worked like a charm. It set the first column heading to

As others have said, good job. This seems like it would be particularly good on a telephone or my watch. In those places it seems like a real game changer in terms of ability to take notes when the keyboard experience is less than awesome.

This proposal makes the same mistake as various stream implementations (including RxJS in the past) of making operators methods on the observable. This means you can't add custom operators without subclassing or doing weird crap with p

That's why the term "spam" was invented to describe USENET spam. USENET comes from a more innocent time, when few institutions had firewalls, open (SMTP) mail relays were pretty common, and people logged into their systems ov

I think you're 90% there. There is also the cost to apply a patch. If you want to patch a bridge, it's gonna cost you. Even if you only need to close down a single lane of traffic for a few hours you are looking at massive expen

Forget the light barrier, just getting into space cheaply enough is the limiting factor. Barring something like fusion rockets or a space elevator, it's going to be hard to really do a whole lot in space.

It's essentially the same advice given to writers. Read a lot and write a lot. If you can get access to review work by folks on other teams that do more coding, that would be a good start. From there, you need to allocate time to look

Now apply that same logic to how we write our numbers. Duodecimal notation makes very clean multiplication tables and makes arithmetic easier to learn. I'm a twelve maximalist. Let's convert SI to duodecimal prefixes. One kilom
