My hunch is many websites are made 1) with a small budget or 2) by a family member or friend who has a pirated copy of a WYSIWYG web dev app (usually flash).

Most of what data.gov.uk links to are pdf's, as http://dataformatchecker.heroku.com/ has been finding out. The data seems more appropriate for journalists than software developers.

I know quite a few iPhone developers and they're finding approval speeds of 1-3 days since christmas. Not quite continuous deployment yet. I guess any approval process prevents that.

Likely more expensive for two reasons: 1) Wii board is mass produced in greater volumes. 2) Selling any technology into medicine is a long slow costly process involving multiple stages of approval and testing. Not so for a consumer game. No

Didn't Linden Labs provide a subsidy for Second Life users who built up areas of the world that attracted lots of users? The idea being to give people interesting things to do in SL without having to build content themselves. Inadvertently

There's a limit to the number of @import's you can have per style tag too, but the imported stylesheets can also include @import's, from what I remember.
