Autocompletion in the omnibox is way more aggressive than in Safari. You typically only need to type one or two characters to get to the sites you visit most frequently. In a lot of cases, this will more than make up for any JS performance

Another simple way to reduce nesting is to use "continue" rather than wrapping entire loops in if statements. For instance, this: for (file in files) { if (isOK(file)) { ... // nested two levels } } becomes: for

I'm curious what ways you found dygraphs "a bit limited". It can do quite a bit more than people realize at first glance.

Nope, it's in the top right of the chart. It shows values when you hover over the chart.

dygraphs has had that feature for about five years :) There's also a "range selector" mode if you prefer the two-pane zooming interface: http://dygraphs.com/tests/range-selector.html

(I work on correlate) The gist of why this is so fast is: 1. For the vast majority of queries, we only need to compare hashes of the time series, not the time series themselves. 2. We make no attempt to detect shifted correlations. The corr

If you like the drawing interaction itself and want to re-use it elsewhere, there's a self-contained version at http://dygraphs.com/tests/drawing.html which also features a zoom and eraser tool.

If you take the averaging period down to 1 (box in the lower left), then the center line is the average temperature for each day. The top of the shaded region is the high for that day. If you zoom in on, say, 2008-05-15, you can see that th

I've actually been pleasantly surprised by the performance of dygraphs under excanvas. The zoom interaction looks a bit funky, but it does work. The highlighting is fairly smooth on the machines I've tested.
