I'm keeping your quote "Get a 100 foot boat, that is a boat that looks great from 100 feet away." So true!

Concept 2 ergometers, model D, are the gold standard. Used ones can be found for around $600 to $700 and new ones are $950. Many gyms sell their rowing machines because people don't use them, however, crossfit studios snap them up. Ch

You're plenty tall for a rower, in fact, likely the perfect height for many boats. Keep up the erg work and I hope you can get on the water more frequently. I've been at it for 20+ years and love it.

On 9/11/2001 one of the few working parts of Internet communication was IRC. I recall getting a lot of first hand information from NYC via IRC on that day. I've been using IRC for 20+ years and use Quassel server + Quassel cl

Has anyone done a pricing comparison between borgbase, rsync.net, AWS S3, and Wasabi for offsite borgbackup storage?

I think the larger programming community is coming around to the stability and good engineering present in the Postgresql development team and code base. Over the past decade we've seen a lot of different data storage options presented

The frustrating part of BMW is that I'd like to replace my 325i sooner rather than later with an all electric vehicle. My only choice in that price category seems to be Tesla. How much longer do we have to wait for the Germans to put f

I think you're right on target with that observation. A compromise of limited liability and aggressive infrastructure upgrades may be the way to go.

No kidding. I want to replace my aging 325i with an all electric 325e and there seems to be nothing on the horizon. I truly enjoy driving BMWs and would like to stay in the fold, but my next car will be electric.

This seems like a nod to python. :-) I started using Perl in the late 80s as a replacement to complex sed and awk scripts, but switched to Python in 2010. I still remember the day that mod_perl hit me, boom! Scaling inside Apache.. 1999 was

I've been using the same Aeron chair for 17 years. It is robust, comfortable, and fine for long sessions in front of the computer. The value proposition remains quite positive.

I think the past purchase receipt check isn't about the shopper, it's about the person at the register. It is a check to be sure that, at a cursory level, everything was charged, and also to ensure that you have goods you paid for
