I highly recommend https://www.silvrback.com for all of these things. Great code support, custom domains, and a bio page. Just a happy customer reporting in.

The information present here isn't really "lost" as much as it can't be heard in the context of the other sounds in the original recording. These forms of audio compression take advantage of auditory masking[1] which mea

This was me a few years ago. While I could have bought used, the premium for a known history of the car was worth it since I knew I would keep it for 10+ years. You pay more to reduce some risk over the lifetime of the car.

The irony is that digital audio has much more dynamic range than vinyl, and yet modern productions use much less of it in order to psychologically sound better / louder.

I'm seeing this same exact issue on my MBPr13. Occasionally I'll wake the laptop and it will show gray garbage on the screen, so I'm suspecting some kind of video issue / interaction with scrolling in Safari. It really g

I use OpenDNS from my router to block ad domains on all my devices, as well as Adblock. You have to add some custom domains to hit the major sources, but it works reasonably well when you're at home.

In my experience FPGAs are broadly used as "glue" chips to interface between microcontrollers, DSPs, codecs, and other hardware elements (encoders, LEDs, etc). Technically these are called CPLDs but depending on how much work they

I'd suggest that the reason mini speakers are popular has to do with aesthetics since they are often paired with a television in a multipurpose room. And with the advent of 5.1, having five full range speakers, wiring, and a subwoofer

All sound waves are directional, but the point made by acousticians is that in any enclosed space with dimensions smaller than the wavelength in question (56 feet for 20Hz), low frequencies are effectively non-directional because they fill

I'd suggest the reason people don't want to talk about how much they make is that it's a reflection of their self worth, and there's always someone who can anonymously claim to make more.

You can get strong, flavorful tea, just not in bags. If you steep your own loose leaf tea, you can make it as strong as coffee with nearly as much caffeine. Unfortunately loose leaf is more expensive. And I agree, both coffee and tea are be

I'm not talking about data use, I'm talking about instantaneous data rate. Base stations are designed to handle a particular maximum throughput for a given number of users relative to the available spectrum in that area. The maxim

This article is seriously flawed. Yes, 4G transmission is more efficient for the allotted wireless spectrum, but users are guaranteed to be using more bandwidth, so the effective number of users per tower stays the same or decreases. And it

Hearing damage as a result of loudness; the electronics have little to do with it. If you set up a 96dB (16 bit) system such that you can hear the lowest bit toggling, your maximum volume will be 96dB above that. 96dB SPL is loud but not pa
