Here's what I managed to coax out of it: I want you to act as a text adventure game. Begin by telling me my location in a fantasy world and I will interact by providing text commands for my next action. You will respond with the result

This blog references another blog where the author has ChatGPT emulate a Linux terminal [1]. The output it produces is incredibly impressive but I just tried to use the same prompts and got back "I'm sorry, but I am not capable of

Perhaps one way to think of these deep learning models is to compare them with a search engine. They take a search term and return a result. Only, instead of returning a list of matches, they’re taking all those matches and combining them i

If I’m reading this right, staff are usually paid on the 28th. So we’re 1 day later and the claim is that a personal account is in overdraft as a result?

The birth of a new category - acceleration as a service. Perhaps future iterations will have usage-based billing and throttling based on an acceptable use policy.

Something smells off about this story. It’s got linked references but I can imagine this ending up being disproven as one of those fictitious Wikipedia articles.

Currently at rank #348 (page 12), seems odd given its points, freshness and number of comments. Curiously on page 12, most posts have 1 or no comments. Only one other post has more comments - "The Twitter Advertiser Exodus" [1] cl

SSO handoff as a sibling points out but also once email is known, a determination is made about trust level for the sign in attempt. Cookies, IP and other fingerprinting are used to determine whether single or double factor auth is required

In 2022, building your own user signup/sign in flows is almost as bad as rolling your own crypto. Edit: a rebuttal is mightier than a downvote.

Effort in a codebase is unevenly distributed. The 90% of the code that looks like boilerplate probably represents 20% of the effort.

I was watching something on Roku and it’s really jarring being interrupted with ads all the time after years of streaming. Ironically, most of the ads were for more Roku hardware!
