There's plenty of space in the middle though, no? Bank accounts cut you off if you hit a zero balance, or they can execute your transactions and charge you a fee. Why can't these services implement throttling or even halting if th

I completely gave up on giving whiteboard interviews after trying a couple of them. It's just so hard to get it right, and even if you do, I'm not sure you gain that much more useful knowledge as opposed to other interview style

For years I wasted so much effort trying to make the most amazing personal website with the hope of impressing potential employers. I'm now at the most successful state of my career so far, and my site looks like this: https:/&#x

For me it's about the fact that html was designed for documents with minimal interactivity, and while it's possible to represent a highly interactive application in html, it poses several significant headaches for developers. I

I've been considering an approach like this, but I don't want to risk going back down the path of "having to name things".

If I ever become wealthy, one of the things I'd love to do is fund a culinary museum. Imagine rotating exhibits where visitors can try samples of historical cuisines from around the world. Of course most of them would be loose approxim

edit: I'd never spent much time looking at shadow dom, but it does appear that you can encapsulate styles with a shadow root. Had no idea - that's really interesting, thanks!

Afaik that doesn’t solve the problem of global CSS. Whatever framework I use to build the application itself (right now I’m using Tailwind), I don’t want to risk it polluting the canvas itself.

I’m using them in a css-based design tool I’m working on. The “canvas” is inside of an iframe so that I can completely control the styling irrespective of the application itself. There are definitely a few scenarios where they are useful.

This is a strangely timed article, because just today I got fed up with this exact approach and I'm considering abandoning it. I've been writing React this way for about 2 years now. It's very nice...for small functions. But

I think the medium is still in such infancy that even the cinematic style games are still pushing the boundaries. Naughty Dog is making incredible experiences in that format.

Every time I’m given a table mockup, it’s flexible column widths with a sticky header. It’s damn near impossible even with JavaScript.
