For those on a wide-screen monitor, it would be nice if you used all of the empty real estate on the right. Move everything up to a single line and take what is currently your second-line content (comments, vote count, etc) and push it all

Has anyone actually seen the source code for edx? They claimed that they would release it. I don't see a repository on Github or anywhere else.

I was surprised to see that the price is only $13.00. You could charge more in my opinion. I normally am not seeking a bargain when my purchase is affiliated with a group that I have a strong affinity for and when the proceeds are going t

Well done. I love that you allow users to try out the game on your site first. I wasn't initially inclined to download the app, but after trying the game I was hooked.

Looks great. I'm quite tempted to buy this. But I have a few questions: 1) Is a tab bar included? 2) What other iOS controls have you styled and included in the kit? 3) I see some icons depicted in the screenshots. Are those included? If

I had no idea they were a reseller. It's all the more interesting when you look at eNom's reseller pricing page http://www.enom.com/resellers/benefits-pricingplans.aspx . I hope NameCheap is getting better bulk rates than what is listed.

Seriously? You're only 23. Just do it. You literally have decades ahead of you to enjoy coding. When I saw the headline I thought I'd be responding to a senior citizen...in which case my response would have been the same.

That was a collection of questions and responses from different sources and times. It wasn't an interview transcript. I made the same mistake as I was reading it and at one point started to wonder why the "interviewer" was asking the same

A little off topic but last weekend I had the privileged of watching an FLL (First Lego League) event. This is a robotics competition for kids ages 9-16. And it's AMAZING. The energy from the kids and parents was exhilarating. Details a

In what way does his mistake about Perl invalidate any of his other examples?

This is why I'm happy when I see other domain suffixes catching on in the public domain (no pun intended). While I fully support this guy's right to sell this domain for whatever price he can extract and to park it for as long as he wants,

If you want the benefits of a CDN I think you'd have to link S3 to CloudFront. S3 alone does not provide CDN capabilities AFAIK.

The approach I've been taking with my recent projects is to serve all static assets from Amazon S3/CloudFront. That way 200 hits per minute is only 200 requests. 19 of those 20 assets in your example would get served from the CDN. I don'

When Stack Overflow went down tonight my productivity dropped precipitously. It reminds me of how grateful I am of the team at Stack Exchange. They built one hell of a resource.

What was your approach? I'm working on a similar effort that requires making audio work via a mobile web app and am interested in the details of your solution.

Are you arguing that the intent behind the second amendment was not to keep the powers of the government in check or that it is no longer relevant in an age where peaceful rebellions have accomplished so much?

You should consider featuring a free preview somewhere prominently on the page. Most people won't think to click your RSS button to find them. I know it says "free videos" right there on the button, but it's still very easy to miss.

Do you mind sharing some details? This happens to a lot of sites so it would be interesting to know what your initial configuration was and what you scaled up to.

I'd love for there to be a "Show HN" filter as well. My favorite part of Hacker News is seeing what others have built.

It would be helpful to see at what age you will run out of money for a given withdrawal rate. Without that it's difficult to know what rate of withdrawal to enter.

I don't think the fiber runs all the way to the TV box (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I have FiOS where I live and the way it works is Verizon installed an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) in my basement and then plugged the coax cabling
