If baggy pants is part of your religion, I'd imagine that means you're free to argue it in court.

The ruling has a narrow scope (it was based on the way the lower court deliberated, not so much the substance of the issue).

TypeScript and Visual Studio Code are both really nicely done open source projects. There is a fairly significant group of .NET developers out there, and that's largely open source today. Sure, Microsoft is ultimately out to make money

Ahh! Yes, each App Engine app lives in its own container & process. App Engine Standard further sandboxes things (you can't use arbitrary C modules from your Python code, for example).

There is an important difference... PHP on shared hosting (often connecting to MySQL) most definitely did not autoscale and self-heal. Even if you had a load balancer connecting to multiple machines, there was no automatic provisioning of m

When using kanban, people take the first card from the top of the pile and work on that. There's no siloing in that, because you're taking whatever happens to be at the top. You don't estimate in kanban. You'll generally

Not sure why you say this. There are already various kinds of developer tools on iOS (see Codea, for example). They don't bring down the App Store walls. An Xcode for iOS would be designed to make it straightforward to develop iOS apps

That's not the same thing. Celebrities are not elected officials representing constituents. Perhaps if someone is actually running for office it makes a difference, but I'm not sure when these sorts of laws kick in.

At Khan Academy, our award-winning[1] mobile apps are a combination of native + React Native + web view. The React Native part is relatively new, but it's definitely helping us to move a lot faster in developing our apps. A few years a

A lot of games have been made in Flash. I'm guessing that a lot of those apps cited are games (which is true for a few other frameworks on that list).

Yeah, I have to agree with you there that the web platform has not _quite_ caught up with the total ease of Flash. I think it's starting to get there within certain domains, though, but it has been a long time in coming.

I knew about ActionScript's relationship with ECMAScript, but I hadn't been aware of the HyperTalk connection. Very interesting! The Flash authoring tool was always, imho, pretty nice. The runtime had lots of issues, though.

Neat! Layout is definitely one of those interesting questions around such a thing. HyperCard got away with simple absolute positioning, which isn't so awesome in our multi-device world but is unbelievably easy for users to understand.

This is cool, but I wonder if anyone has made a modern, browser-based variation of HyperCard? Something with a model akin to HyperCard's but exporting stacks in a form that can be easily put onto a page. There's Amber Smalltalk, b
