It’s funny because some places actually go the other way —- they start off only selling their own stuff and then they invite others into the marketplace. This is one way to overcome the marketplace chicken egg problem of having both buyers

Even if Google’s prices were half that of Amazon’s, it’s really hard to quantify the savings since the platform offerings are not identical, plus engineering switching costs could easily outstrip a company’s yearly cloud costs.
