Is he kidding with that title-text-as-an-image? I was going to C&P it into an IM, but nope.

The canonical source is Roy Fielding's thesis, in particular chapters 5 and 6. https://www.ics.uci.edu/~fielding/pubs/dissertation/top.htm

It describes how to construct URLs to get from one state to another (e.g. from a base URL to a list of songs, or from the list to an individual song). REST URLs are supposed to be opaque. A RESTful resource should provide links to its relat

This completely misses the point of REST. By miles. Why not just call it an "HTTP API modeling language", since that's what it is, instead of using buzzwords for the sake of it?

Does anyone know much about multicopters before they buy one? I know I didn't. Pretty much all I did was look up the regulations in various countries and then had at it.

As an owner of DJI Phantom multicopter it makes me sad to hear that we're all tarred with the same brush. Out of interest, what makes you "multicopter pilots" and other people just "owners"?

You're grasping. Let's be honest, nobody is actually confused about what meaning is intended. If it was really as ambiguous a phrase as you're claiming, it wouldn't have gained as much traction as it has.

My main issue with this is that it breaks HTTP caching, both in the browser and upstream.

Thank you, my wife and I would love that, especially as just on the edge of the map is the apartment we rented on AirBNB. There's no PM facility on HN, but please do get in touch at dan@danellis.me for my address and let me know the be

I've no idea what this is doing on HN, but it's very nice, and I wish I'd seen it before I was there a few weeks ago. Beautiful city, far bigger and far more modern than I'd imagined, and full of lovely people.

The relevance is that Roger Wilson was a notable figure in the 80s and 90s -- he and Steve Furber were a powerhouse team. As far as I know, she transitioned to Sophie after her rise to notability, and she's quite a private person, so i

This is ridiculous. An entire article about the creation of ARM, and only a passing reference to Steve Furber, the guy who actually designed the chip itself. Either there was an intentional bias here, or it was very poorly researched. Here&

Even from an end user point of view, the recommendation is to assign a /64 for a single network or a /48 for multiple networks. (Assuming 'end user = homeowner' here.)
