I would think by far it’s for crew safety. Recovery due to an in-flight abort would be difficult in rough seas and weather if they had to be plucked out of the Atlantic. The aerostructure of the falcon 9 can only withstand so much side load

The space suits, UI, design of it all feels exactly what I’ve though the future of space technology would be. Maybe not all the way there yet, but a great leap from hundreds of manual switches and raw aluminum of the shuttle era.

I read this book a couple years ago, it’s great. In fact, I picked up the book 2nd hand with a note from the author inscribed on a cover page. Neat. This book is especially interesting to anyone building systems where humans are required to

I work in Kendall sq and have wanted to ride my bike into Cambridge the past 5 years. I’m (almost) deathly afraid to ride make the short 4 mile trek across the river for exactly this reason. I lament every day I get on the T to slog for 45

I worked in a research lab to help collect hundreds of thousands of miles of non-biased, real-world, Tesla specific driving data. I know the data is there to help prove or squash claims like this. I hope it gets out there one day.
