Man, that sucks! I managed to trickle charge my 15" MacBook Pro with a 12W iPad charger once when I forgot the laptop adapter. Took overnight but it worked!

More than ok, I'd say it's positively encouraged! I've seen more than my far share of over-engineered web applications that would have been much simpler and no worse off for being straightforward server side rendered apps.
