In fact, this means that writing concurrent code is easier as you don’t have to worry about synchronizing access to shared state. It also means scaling applications is straightforward, since you are forced to design for horizontal scalabili

The profit margin is a lot thicker in the luxury car market. It's a lot harder for Tesla to compete with economy vehicles produced by Ford/Chevy/Honda/Toyota since they have established production lines and can out-produ

Well, the gotcha's are pretty straight forward - don't capture self. Xcode actually features runtime memory leak detection which can detect this (though I've never seen it actually work...).

I’m with you on the prediction, but I disagree with your last point. My impression of Kotlin (as an avid swift user) is it is a modern, well-designed Java, but it’s still Java. What Swift does differently is what really sells me on it in th

I had the same thought [0]! They cite their wheel torque, not their engine torque, which is what we're all used to seeing. [0]: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15719411

I wonder if it would be possible to get "dynamic" (state-dependent) animations such as these but by generating keyframed CSS animations and injecting them into the styles. I'm no guru but I think this would give you the absol

Sorry, it wasn't entirely clear to me from the article. Is React Fiber going to be a completely new project, or is it just a name for the new release? It seems like the latter to me since there's no API changes...

To be fair that's just bad UX, there is no necessity for apps using rollout to access the internet as (I hope) rollout caches the app.

What I think the author is trying to portray is that they achieved Ruby/Python level code (in terms of boilerplate and readability) while retaining the typesafety and performance that makes Rust attractive in the first place. That
