In fact, you're commenting of the old site. To comment on the new one : http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/2460/ss5u.png . We could make the "add timmy" clickable but it doesn't work well on every computer (in fact, on my own computer).

That's exactly the type of thoughts we're looking for. I forgot to mention that the screenshots were not the actual screenshots we'll use. They are there for the general feel of the "mockup".

At first, I thought that you could secure the different "lists" (personal, professional) for different users. I would have use the public list to post to twitter and the "profesionnal" list to share with my colleague. That's really not that

The problem with freelancers is that they don't see their situation as exploitation so they can stay. One of the best way to get out of the freelancer situation is by creating a company. Then, the way a customer view yourself is really diff

That's the problem with desktop-like UI, it's created by lazy developers. They used and learnt RAD ten years ago and they don't want to bother to learn HTML and how the web works.

Why does so many people want to create desktop-like web apps? It's not a desktop, it's the web. It never worked and it always looked bad and unusable.

I'm so not sure about that. The article cites a "dictator" (Steve Jobs) and the iPhone as an example. Isn't it because he created a product that is beyond expectations that the iPhone was successful? I'd like to have the point of view of St

By "doing everything ourselves", we also learn how it works and we are in control. Accounting is a good example. It could cost us hundreds and we would not know that much about our finance. Until the day we have more money and we found a ac

The weird thing about this story is that it is so true… but if I would have read it one year ago, I wouldn’t have believed a word out of it. Especially for the “narrow your audience” tip. Couple of months ago, I’d say that our project monit

I'm searching a really good community of IT entrepreneurs. Much like HN but with less programming and more business minded people. Didn't find it in this list.

I've been on twitter for 2 years and I just understood its value : real-time search. When I want to find our newest competitor, how do you find it on google? You can't. You'll only find the biggest ones. It's easy on twitter because someone

I don't think we were the prey of feature creeps. The human factor of wanting to release often caused us to lose our vision. In a perfect world, it wouldn't happen but we're not part of this world.

It was half-baked because we felt the urge to release often. I consider this experience very positive, we learned a lot but meanwhile, our product had to fail and now, we have to resurrect it.

Writing the post, that's what I realized. The problem is that when we had enough experience, we didn't stop to "release often" and it hurt us more than it helped us.
