The Wire does live up to its hype, but I think The Shield is the better series.

Logging into Github lands me 10 cookies (5 of which have a 365 day expiry), and a row in local storage - are these all 'essential'?

I wonder if there’s a gap in the market, or perhaps there’s no market for book recommendations?

Ah, I had no idea! Makes me think there’s a different reason for closing the API, because Amazon could run the service for close to nothing on AWS.

I guess if you’re looking for something new to read, you can look for someone with similar taste and look at the books they’ve read that you haven’t (presumably the GoodReads algorithm could do this automatically). I actually use Last.fm to

I think a lot of these services could also be run more efficiently. I’ve not used GoodReads before but it appears to be a book recommendation service. I’m surprised they can’t run the main site & API on Amazon referral links for the rec

Unfortunately, even intel’s white label laptop specs soldered RAM, so I expect the trend to continue in low/mid range PC laptops. https://www.theverge.com/2020/11/19/21573577/intel-nuc-m15-l...

Thanks, I'd looked through the ToS, but didn't see the "guidelines". Seems odd to have an API for bots but ban 3rd party clients!

I know modding the official client is against the rules, but how is a replacement client in breach when there’s a public API? Does anyone know the specific rule, in the ToS, that Cordless breaks?

Docker and Android emulators aren’t currently working, which is probably the biggest thing keeping me from buying. I don’t expect them to be broken for too long. x86 windows virtualisation is probably going to be the biggest issue for most

You can already spec the M1 with 16GB, it’s just pretty pricey. I don’t even want to think what the 32GB and above will cost.

I use AdGuard for safari (in the Mac app store), which works reasonably well. It has good standard developer tools, but not the advanced stuff like Redux replay and flexbox inspectors.

One of them is used for charging, so you really only have one useable port. Still, TB3 dock should be able to provide enough ports for most people (at the expense of portability).

The resources (images, videos etc) take up the most space, and should be shared. It’s just the code that’s taking up extra space, and there’ll be a way to thin the binary if you want (there was last time anyway).
