If it did leak, why wouldn’t they just revoke and then reissue the valid passports with a new private key? The same argument could be made about the possibility of a CA’s key being leaked.

IIRC: Force Touch is something supported by 2015+ MacBook trackpads (you can push harder to effectively middle-click something) and 3D Touch was the iPhone screen tech that did the same thing, which has been replaced with Haptic Touch (equi

Yes, sorry I didn't mean to imply that Linode were lying about the cause! I look forward to their full postmortem about the issue (they promised that after the first outage, but the second happened before they'd published anything

This new outage has occurred almost exactly 24hrs after the first one - is there some automated process tripping everything? The incident states that it's a power issue (like they said last night), but none of my servers were rebooted

In the UK, most offices, shops, cars, and (intercity) public transport already have AC but it just doesn't get hot enough for long enough to justify installing it most homes. Portable AC units are relatively new to the market, but I ca

I think the camera in my 14" M1 Pro is much, much better than the camera in my 2015 MPB. Also, people on the other end of Zoom etc commented on the improved picture quality.

The UK pricing is £1,249, up from £999, so 24% extra for the better CPU, webcam & display[0]. A bit disappointed to see them sticking with 256GB SSD as the base, feel like 512GB should really be the standard nowadays. [0] https:/&#

Will it though? I don't know anyone who side loads onto Android, and even Epic gave up and put Fortnite back onto Google play[0]. I'm sure that any side loading will be hidden beneath layers of warnings designed to put off all but

Not sure what db they're using for geolocating ips, but mine was miles off (thought I was US, but actually Europe, so not even the right registry!).

9.4 here, which made me wonder if Apple's new webcams add some beautifying filters? The site also underestimated my age by 10 years (and then accused me of lying about my age!).

iOS 15 - interesting, assumed they’d only be attributing data they were actually using! Apple’s forecast does vary slightly from the ones the BBC (using MeteoGroup) and the Met Office give, so I’m not sure what their source is if it’s not t

Not sure for Central Europe, but for the UK, their app has logos for the Weather Channel, along with BreezoMeter for air quality info. Doesn't feel as accurate as the Met Office's app, but not too bad (tends to over predict chance

That's also why it'd probably never get close to zero - its utility means it'd always have some value to someone. Even if we were to come up with a way to produce a synthetic gold, the price of gold would only fall as far the

At least you'd still have the physical gold (which has utility) if the price went to zero. With crypto, all you'd be left with is a wallet address.

Also, Ethereum has dropped 37% over the last 7 days, 18% in the last 24h. Could be an interesting week.

As I read it, the new laws are concerned with the chargers more than the devices being charged - if Apple just includes a lightning to USB-C cable (as they already do for the 12), wouldn’t that be enough to satisfy the legislation?

Appletv+ is available on android, web, and quite a few smart tvs so you can subscribe without having any other connection with their ecosystem. It’s more likely they pirate because apple’s library is pretty small, compared to others, so it’

I would imagine Twitter would have access to analytics that third parties don't have, which would allow them to pretty easily work out which accounts are logged in and used for browsing and which are actually abandoned.

I don't have an API key handy, but it's not marked as deprecated/removed in the documentation, so I can't see why it wouldn't still be in there. The dislike count is also still present in the [0] video API response.
