Fortran 77 was the language I used in my first job in 92 on DOS and Unix. Can't see the benefits over other languages like C, Go, Python though. Unless you've got some specific high performance floating point ops requirements?

Minor point but I know c# has a GeoCoordinate class into the framework Dlls. It also contains methods to calculate distance between points. Many .net Devs I've worked with didn't know about it. I think it came out first in .net 4.

The reply from a Google employee when asked this question was to look at the Google AdWords team - they have invested heavily in Flutter for their Google Ads app on iOS and Android. He basically said Flutter will be supported for 10+ years
