Doesn't LinkedIn already have this feature? I've used it a few times.

One could argue Bob provided a valuable service by calculating some hard to calculate sums which could then be used by others securely.

Stick a cache on your build server. As long as your cache doesn't go down you can cache all the build dependencies. Then github is not a dependency anymore.

But you're not taking a hit really. You just think your are. You have made a profit still if you sell your house, tax the hit in capital gains and buy another place. It's not as much profit as without the capital gains but it'

People/companies go to GitHub to be social. It's the Facebook of computer code. That's why all the big players are there, so they can share/market themselves. It's also where a lot of programmers put their code so t

Yeah we use sentry, and quite often generate an insane amount of errors on occaison (sorry). And also management not prioritising fixing low priority errors, means we have quite a high error count even then. That 20b does sound quite low ba

A tax on earnings? Do you mean revenue? I think that's a bit insane and lot's of business wouldn't be able to survive. If I buy something for $100 and sell it for $110 I now have to pay tax on the $110 amount rather then the

So? That was her opinion which is a review. Even if you think there are reasons why it happened, leave the review and judge yourself. She just said she blacked out, and you gave reasons. What accusation was made?

Why not a standard syntax like this: ``` /api/payments?fields=customerNumber&fields=checkNumber ``` You don't need [] to look for multiples.

Yep, but you can catch that and say sorry the id is in the wrong format. Easier to ask for forgiveness then permission.

Or just treat id as whatever and pass it on the service. If it quacks like a duck, it's a duck.

Small misunderstanding. The browsers have a list of CA's they trust. Let's call them the root CAs. You normally won't get a http cert signed by a root CA, it's normally done by an intermediate CA. Now your browser doesn&

If you create your own CA it's not trusted by your browser. Intermediate chains have nothing to do with it because at the end of the chain is no trust.

You still need to distribute the CA certs so they are trusted by various browsers. Which isn't a solution for the public.

Well they shouldn't be accessed via http if you're not in your own network. So you can just create a proxy that has a https cert and proxies to http. Let's you add authentication, log access, etc.
