That's why I loved cookings shows like Good Eats by Alton Brown or ones with Heston Blumenthal. They approach cooking from a more scientific approach in that they explain the why (and with Good Eats often a funny demonstration). And wi

It would be nice if the questions were factual (like Google's guides) but that's too many questions. For a simple one input perhaps rating out of 110% would be clearer. Was your job/ride successful? 0-110% ? (and probably us

That would be good as the driver would start to learn your pattern and be ready for your ride (if you're a regular).

I would put that comment in the function header comment, not in the code itself. That's more meta. And of course the function in question only deals with "ISO/IEC TR 18037 S5.3" so it's easily tested. If someone fil

With the wireless payment cards, it's even more efficient then cash. Just put your card up to the machine and it takes the payment. No pin or anything. Limited to under a certain amount though. And it does sometimes ask for your pin no

Could it be to prevent copy paste? Or perhaps it was copy pasted from somewhere else with those as copy protection.

One could argue that it's not a perfect system if it's susceptible to bad actors. A good system protects even when some of the good guys are bad guys.

Yeah the advice on not clicking unsubscribe or report on spam emails is wrong advice. It doesn't verify your email (other ways to do that easily). But reporting or unsubscribing will often get you off that list.

Only one person can use it at a time, and it wastes energy. Paper is recyclable, and more need for paper means more trees. Paper is low tech and works, and is more hygenic.

Isn't every business that has backups in the same boat? Event sourcing is just like having continuous backup. So you're saying that every company that has a backup system, and who don't regularly go through the backups and re

No event sourcing architecture I know of advocates that at all. One of the strengths of event sourcing is that you can fix things after the fact. Say you got a wrong event like you suggested that conflicts. You don't check it at the ti

A lot of the big agile companies are using event sourcing. So there isn't even a model to delete. It's all events with the models being created from a snapshot of events. The event stream is usually durable and lives forever. htt

Perhaps it's event sourcing based. Every time someone types into a field it writes a row that something was typed which is a record of what was typed. Play it back and you have the full document with no conflicts.

That soft delete is the next evolution you learn after learning not to issue SQL DELETE instead. But after that it would be more like event sourcing where an event to delete was issued. And then some sort of snapshot creator would translate
