This happened to me with SplashID in 2016. I just dropped them. IANAL but I bet the license didn't contain the term "irrevocable". Interesting if it does!

A "Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard with RGB". Bought on a whim on sale. Not unhappy with the keyboard itself, but its killer app is being able to tell at a glance, by backlit keys, if my work laptop has accidentally un-hiber

Small/silly things I did early in my career that are milestones in retrospect: 1. Compiling my Linux kernel - still relevant 25 years later 2. A multi-threaded socket server 3. Implementing each of the OO design patterns Other things o

I have worked with TfNSW SCATS ("Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System") in another city. No need for the sticker: this behavior for ped requests is typical.

Two-pronged IMO and YMMV: - Lack of a mobile app as nice as the G+ one. Is commonly stated reason why e.g. Diaspora is a no-go and MeWe got traction. - The niche hobby evolved and the interests central to the forums which spawned it are now

I'm keen on Mastodon/Diaspora but there are loads of non-technical people out there who say things like "looks like the Linux of social" and dismiss it. (The Linux of social? EXCELLENT!)

Yes - that's the controversy I'm referring to. I'm on MeWe and haven't encountered any people there that I have followed specifically discussing far-right/alt-right topics except for a couple of folks posting in gro

G+ was _the_ place to be for one of my hobbies (OSR/DIY D&D). A massive blow. I made jokes about if we hang in there and don't get taken in the Google+ Rapture, things will go on like normal. Turns out G Suite users get to kee

FWIW I've had more Dungeon Masters/referees for Lamentations of the Flame Princess (a modern horror-themed retroclone of the 1983 Mentzer D&D Red Box) in my home city than any other edition of D&D or any other tabletop RPG

Cheers! (I only got back into it recently after a long break since I was 14 or so. I'm not keen on the new products but the 80s era stuff is retro-excellent.)

I play in cough Dungeons & Dragons cough games in Hangouts and this looks tremendously useful. The participants are usually spread out across the world... the option to view Hangout times in in terms of local time would be _excellent_
