Does the VSCode integration support this? Though for webassembly I need the generated wasm to exist and be loaded before I can really see what's happening :\

By the way - kindof a tangent, but if we're mentioning Unity I remember with Flash around ~8 years ago using TLFText. Seemed really good iirc. Though that was with the old vector/cpu Flash, not the Starling/gpu stuff.

Oh, I see - although this is a relatively old issue on the imgui repo, seems like it's the bottom line (and expresses the same ideas mentioned here): https://github.com/ocornut/imgui/issues/1228#issuecomm

Interesting. So does all text in the browser go through the same problem space? Canvas, SVG, and HTML? (also a question to the siblings here! I'm not totally clear on HN etiquette when one wants a "reply all"...)

Good point and thanks for the link! However, doesn't it imply that text rendering is a bottleneck anywhere - games, digital signage, etc.? No doubt there's good reasons for the slow browser performance (like text as you mentioned,

So... semi-serious question, what does html/css give us that imgui doesn't? e.g. taking this idea in another direction - why not just replace the dom hierarchy with a single webgl node and compile imgui to wasm in order to drive i

Hey - around ~3 years ago or so I was dabbling with writing a libVLC module to handle custom encryption and jumped on the IRC channel to get help. Was a great experience all around! Curious about VLC.js - is there a recommended way to get u

Here's a few ideas on testing web apps: 1. The internal pure data representation. If you're using some state management like redux or xstate then you can just cache the state on changes and run tests as-is (e.g. running the tests

Thanks - I'll have to do a bit more learning to really understand this, e.g. how mutability relates to cache lines and what "Shared" means in that context, but this gives me some good practical direction and insight to take i

Something I don't understand is how to deal with cache coherency when you need the same data in a bunch of different configurations. Take a typical game loop and assume we have a list of Transforms (e.g. world matrix, translation/

Hmmm good question! I can't say for sure - I guess it was a bit of both. In either case, I found it's faster to play around with changes in other approaches, though another way of phrasing that could be that it's easier to br

I spent a fair amount of time dabbling with FRP - for example, wrote a Pong for the web using SodiumFRP and Purescript[0] imho FRP is absolutely elegant and wonderful when it all comes together. The difficulty, I found, is iterating and hac

Sounds like a legitimate idea executed the wrong way. If there is a genuine need in the market for such a service, surely the studios would cooperate (ideally with the director) in order to produce a clean cut? Seems to me very similar to o

Or on a more basic level - trying to store a ref in a struct. There's plenty of ways to not do that or think about the problem in other ways, but I think it's fairly easy to accidentally run into that problem early on.
