Wow. Speaking of Leaflet.js, modern web-technologies are powerful and elegant. And GitHub is becoming a whole universe. What a wonderful service, idea, design, usability! I am really amused.

"Content first, essence, clarity, bla bla bla..." There is such a thing as AESTHETICS that everyone of those rationally-thinking-wannabe designers forget about. People do not wear the same gray robes and do not live in an apartmen

Of course, that company is clearly not worth that amount of money even closely. It was a startup running exlusively on investors' money with no model of generating revenue whatsoever. Without the acquisition their perspective would be

I think in a proper world Waze would be banned because of its insane idea of encouraging drivers to socially interact during driving. Certainly it is not safe. Waze has been generally exploiting people's stupidity, people's keen d

Very good point. I would extend it to security in general. Security is like medicine: do not try it yourself, unless you are a specialist or want to end up dead. Too bad a lot of developers still do not understand this and remain too self-c

You see this article has a catchy title with no actual content, and it did quite well on the HN that is sort of exposing. Next time I'll read the article before submitting it, sorry.

I see this site is read mainly by dumb ignorant children. Screw this 'community'. It sucks ass. Also, the design of this site is awful. And the engineering skills of the Mr. PG The Greatest apparently suck as well.

Is my thought that complicated it needs additional explanation? By the way, I'm an expert C/C++ programmer, so my opinion matters.

I don't get it. What will happen if you violate the language semantics? They call it 'dark corners'? If you hit your head against a wall, it will hurt. Is it a 'dark corner' of life? Overall, the presentation is very weak, like from a yeste

The worst thing is using C++ for a GUI engine. Don't do that mistake again! The code looks quite weak at the first glance, but at least not so ugly as average open-source code. The architecture solutions seem a bit weak too, even weaker tha

In TypeScript it works out-of-the-box, plus TypeScript compiles to idiomatic JavaScript and what you write is much closer to what you get, and the transition is much easier understandable.

Growing computer education you say? Also teach kids engineering — it's easy, everybody can do it, right? As easy as programming. Everybody can program. I have no idea why programmers have high salaries. And why we cannot find programmers th

I agree. C++ is a poorly designed language with a lot of "bugs" in it. Languages do not pass the usual development cycle that includes collection of requirements, beta-testing and bug fixing. C++ have some obviously stupid design decisions
