It is not difficult to fake (e.g. China for the last 20 years). But I agree with you, we should add new metrics (and targets) but keep a GDP as one of them, also for the other indicators to mature (how they are measure, methodologies, trans

May I also suggested City Skylines on the switch? It has a great addiction management feature called high RAM usage, so when your city reaches 200k citizens the game will force close repeatedly on you.

This article takes me back to a time when I worked in Revenue Management for an airline. Amadeus was one of my mains tools. One interesting aspect of the GDS is that they made efforts to have a better GUI, with point and click options, to f

Do people here from outside the US think this is the case everywhere? Because I'm from Latin America (more specifically Brazil) and I don't think ignoring the lower paid staff is the status quo. Actually it is considered pretty ru

I don't have access to the paper but I wonder how they define "Love". Is it sexual attractiveness? Is it the sensation of deep care for the other person? I believe those are different processes (thank god!) in our brain...

Not very hopeful on this working out without merging institutions (central banks, etc..) and laws, which, of course, are much harder to get agreement to.

Felt the same way. Some off the shelf algorithms would do wonders here. More sophisticated ML to tag (image and themes) would be awesomely overkill.

The problem is not the AB testing, as it can be a good thing to improve the experience, the problem is poorly set, short sighted, OKRs. The author points that in the text, as he mentions many times that the leadership never asks the right q

Nobody is overpaid. Salaries, live everything else, follow a trend of Supply and Demand. Currently SWEs are on high demand pretty much everywhere in the world and salaries reflect that. What should we do? Educate/Train more SWEs!
