Perhaps someone more technologically inclined than I am can shed light on this but when a company like Apple hosts a marquee event like WWDC why can't they see how many people will be at the event, then deploy enough wifi routers to meet de

My favorite part of "The Introvert Advantage" is the lovely blue ink used in printing it. As if introverts are so delicate, black ink would somehow damage our little psyche's.

I hope the ACLU takes this case to the supreme court. This Orwellian policy needs to be examined and the sooner the better.

There's 2 things wrong with this idea: First is that I really can't see this approach being much more successful than just being honest and saying "can you spare 5 minutes? I'll buy your coffee for the trouble." And more importantly, the ov

Talk to the founders of companies in your sector who've been acquired recently. Find out who represented them. Then hire that firm. Selling a company is like going to court. You can do it yourself, but when the other side has trained profes

Why wasn't this caught during printing? I worked for a company that printed newspaper circulars and we had to check the prints every 10 minutes for quality. So the department of engraving and printing can't do the same? My theory is that th

This guy was a swivel chair and a cat away from being a Bond villain. Frankly, I'm surprised it took the NYPD that long to arrest him.

There seems to be a theme here. "Jason is a jerk because he's overly confident and brags and expects people to work hard." So? That's the exact type of person who should be running a startup. When you're facing long odds against you, only s

It's a bit odd that the best idea Seth Priebatsch's ever had is to add a game layer to the world. If he were to apply his talents to a real business problem not only would he make substantially more money, he'd change the world. Don't get m

Beer kills my creativity. I'm about to turn 30 so I need to cut back but now I'm in limbo at my job. So I get the "why not?" drink and from there it cascades until I'm 12 in and can't see straight. Feels bad, man.

Every time I try to post a comment I get a 500 error. I like the concept but the site seems a bit buggy right now. Also, I tried to post my comment from an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1 if that info would help.

I love HN. I am learning Python right now but trudging through phonebooks of manuals isn't exactly the most fun I've ever had. This looks like a completely different approach and I never would have known about it if not for HN. Thanks to YC

Thus far, I've only made $0.24 with my adsense account so if the IRS wants their nickel, I'm glad to give it to em. If my site should take off, I'll worry about it then. But thanks for making me aware of the problem.

I would recommend taking this one step further. Let's all find a day in the next few months where we simply refuse to fly. We can call it "dignity day". If air traffic was significantly down because of this, the airlines would start pressu

Are they going after 4chan itself? Or are they trying to find out who actually ran the DDoS? I'm not sure that the govt has a case to prosecute a website for what it's members do on thier own.

I've never posted any comments here before but I feel compelled to do so for this link. It is lamenting the fact that people who eat ramen frequently aren't buying fruits and vegetables instead. I've basically lived on ramen for the better
