What you are missing here is "denormalization" -- e.g. many-to-many relationships. You can either use a JOIN with a table on a "normalized" database, or keep managing the result of the join in application code. Loading

Much (most?) code is trivial to write, the work is figuring out what code to write -- posing the problem correctly is half the job. Then inevitably as you work on solving the problem you will (if, and only if, you know the business domain w

I would think the problem is the volume of traffic faced by pedestrians and neighbors, not specifically who drives. Many roads are simply suitable for moderate traffic. "Solving the problem" in this case often involves a roadblock

I work on a 100 KLOC Python project and have written a fair bit of C++ too. We must have different definitions of "all hell from breaking loose", since none of those tools would help me avoid that in C++ at all. Hell has broken lo

Nature Biotechnology is in fact only "a journal", there is Nature proper and then lots of spin-offs that have to be evaluated on their own merit.

You neglect something I think is very important: You do not normally know up front what code will live and not. If you carefully (over-)engineer everything you will perhaps not get time to write all those short-lived failures that preceded

So basically you think it is best (of likely options) that the majority of humans should not have basic needs met so that the remainder can reflect on how free and unenslaved they are. That is quite cynical.

As for leaking info, your Py3.6 example leaks exactly as much (i.e., what is referenced in the literal). In fact you could consider it syntactic sugar for the locals() (although faster I guess).
