Making it opensource is no guarantee at all(if there could be any), for instance it could be more dangerous: anyone could spot a security hole and take advantage of it without reporting it, there is no guarantee there would be a responsible

In Spain there is universal healthcare which is not perfect but works relative ok (although has been eroded over time) and most antivaxxers(and anti mask and anti everything) could be found within the right spectrum, basically as no sayers

you don't have pay back your vc's you raised from(unless you raised debt). another story is that their investors might have forced them to cut costs and make everything needed to become profitable as soon as possible.

I'm not sure I get your point. The notifications are sent when system detects you were in contact with a person that tested positive, so mass messages don't make that much sense. Unless you are referring to using the sms as a mark

The question would be if by adding those additional features, the experience to use the "basic/original" features got more cumbersome or the hardware requirements did change a lot. My guess it hasn't changed that much.
