I think for the starkest contrast, play games from 10-20 years ago. If the difference in graphics, animation, physics and world size doesn't amaze you, then the changes in user interface should. It is so much easier to play modern game

I figure you're doing the same as someone that cuts an article that they are mentioned in out of a newspaper and frames it on their wall. I've seen plenty of restaurants and businesses do it.

But if you're dropping 50% of the lanes and only getting a 20% speed drop, then it looks like you're not using those 16 lanes to capacity. Logically you'd expect closer to a 50% performance drop.

So the challenge for the AI would be to figure out which action to do with the limited supply of actions and time.

I liked HRM, the story was a nicely quirky, and so far to date it's the only game for which I have 100% achievements for. The only thing it was quite annoying to write the code for the later levels since you couldn't see enough of

Yep, I've spent days tweaking and optimising the starting few worlds of SpaceChem to get solutions which are most optimal. The only disappointing thing is that you can only save one solution to each challenge, so it means you need to p

So DRM, geofiltering, and differential pricing are all requested by publishers and distributors. If you want something more equitable then try GoG, but as you'll notice that not all new or big games are on that platform. As for third p

So basically what I read from this thread is that the fraudulently acquired bitcoins will go through a mixer or tumbler in order to cover the transaction tracks. The tumbler/mixer will take a small fee for this service. Then the perpet

I believe the article was http://pzemtsov.github.io/2017/07/23/the-slow-currenttimemil... Although I couldn't easily find it in my history or on HN. I had to resort to the Googles.

You could argue that each processor's errata is UB in assembly. I remember that programming for the XScale we had a whole manual of errata that we had to program around. Though because it's documented it's not "Undefined

Unfortunately the architectural details of the machine will leak through to the program you are writing, and you will need to twist your code in order to get correct behaviour and fast execution. Case in point is the recent article posted o

I think for actual security you need to practice physical security. No matter if the data is stored on paper or electronically, you will still need to air gap it, and have security and clearance protecting that data. To put it into perspect

People cover up things because at the time when the cover up starts the damage/cost of exposing the problem and taking the blame far outweighs the cost of doing a cover up. As time progresses (the simple view is) one of two things can
